Time Is Muscle. Sites With a Passion

RAYMOND BAHR, MD, DIRECTOR OF THE CORONARY Care Unit. St. Agnes, HealthCare in Baltimore (known as the physician who declared war on heart attacks. according to Readers Digest) suggested we visit the 3 sites he founded.

We recommend every cardiologist check out these superb web sites. They are models of how physicians who are passionate about their work can make a huge difference in people's livcs. First, go to www.ehac.org, where you will find excellent information about the worldwide EHAC (early heart attack care) Project.

The goal of EHAC is to educate people to recognize the early symptoms of a myocardial infarction, or MI (okay, Bahr doesn't use the clinical term on his site!), thus interrupting the MI in its beginning stage. The bottom line? Time is muscle!

Bahr's related sites provide extensive information about chest-pain centers (another of Bahr's passions). Go to www.scpcp.org (the Society of Chest Pain Center and Providers) and www.chestpaincenters.org (Clinical Information & Concepts in Chest Pain Centers). Your patients, particularly those involved in Mended Hearts chapters, will also find Bahr's sites informative and inspirational.
