HINTS FROM EHACHow to Search the EHAC Web SiteWhere to StartFirst, from any EHAC main page, click on the "Search" button or text link, which opens the "Search" page. Beginning a SearchOn the "Search" page, type in the word, words, or phrase that you wish to search for, then click on the "search" button. The search engine will then return a list of pages that best match your query. The top of the list will be shown on the page. You can scroll down the list by clicking on the "Next Page" button at the bottom of the page. Note: The index "scores" the pages by filling in the shaded bar to the left of each entry. A fully darkened bar means the page is a good match--it contains your query numerous times or uses a phrase very similar to yours. To the right, the list entry shows which words from the search phrase appear on the page. Retrieving a PageTo read a page, click on the page number (in blue). If you want to return to the index from a page, click on the "Back" key near the top left of the screen (If you are using Netscape.) Continuing a SearchThere are two ways of continuing a search: 1. Redirect a query with "Find Similar Documents." You may select the pages from the initial list that most interest you and search for other pages that share the same major topics. To the right of each list entry, there is a checkbox labeled "More." By first checking this box and then clicking on the "Find Similar Documents" key at the bottom of the page, you can search for pages that cover similar topics. Note: If you click on "Find Similar Documents" without checking a box, you will begin a new search. 2. Try another phrase. To broaden or narrow your search, you might want to change the phrase you've used, or add or subtract words in your query. To do this, simply use the "Query" box at the bottom of the page to begin another search.
